For 10 months I will be living in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on a Fulbright Scholarship where I will be working with a local organization to help combat human trafficking. This blog will act as a map of my journey and a way to stay connected to all of you from the other side of the world!
About Me
I grew up in Southern California for 18 years before moving to Portland, Oregon for college where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work, Psychology, and Sociology. Over the past 3 years I have dedicated much time and energy to fighting modern-day slavery, one of the world's most horrible injustices. Through planning and organizing awareness events, starting a club, and doing an internship, I have continued to grow a desire to fight this severe human rights violation and be a voice for those who are enslaved. My goal is to continue working with this issue, advocating for victims, spreading awareness, and eventually focusing on treating victims and helping them build the strength and develop the skills to have the life they deserve.
